Reporting a bug

To help us fix it quickly, please include:

  • which app — Helmrig Shell (iPad) or Helmrig (iPhone) — and its version (shown in the app's settings);
  • your iPadOS / iOS version and device model;
  • what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead — a screenshot or screen recording helps a lot;
  • for connection issues: the OS of the machine running the helmrig CLI (macOS or Linux).

Frequently asked questions

Pairing fails or the QR code doesn't work

Make sure the CLI on your computer is the latest version — run npx helmrig@latest again — and that the computer is online while you scan. Pairing codes are short-lived, so if a scan fails, generate a fresh QR code and scan it right away. Still stuck? Email us with both the app version and your computer's OS.

My session disconnected — is my work lost?

No. Your sessions run on your own Mac or server, not on the iPad and not on our infrastructure — the app is just the window into them. If the connection drops, reconnect and you're back where you left off. The one thing that does interrupt a session is the machine itself going to sleep or shutting down, so keep it awake for long-running work.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple to your Apple ID. Manage or cancel them in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid renewal.

How do I request a refund?

App Store purchases are refunded by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com and Apple will decide per its policies. If something went wrong on our side, email us too — we want to know.

Can you see my code or terminal sessions?

No. Traffic between your device and your machine is end-to-end encrypted, and your code, files, and sessions never reach our servers. The details are in the privacy policies linked below.

How do I delete my data?

Neither app requires an account, and we don't store your sessions. To remove everything, uninstall the app and the CLI. If you've emailed us or joined the TestFlight list and want that correspondence or your email address deleted, just ask at support@helmrig.app.
